Welcome to the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) institution page! In 2011, the Health Science faculty (Medunsa) separated from the University of Limpopo’s main campus. This is when Sefako Makgatho began. It first opened its doors in 2015. It is located next to the Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital.

- 29 September 2023 (postgraduate programmes)
Tuition costs at SMU range anywhere from R30 000 to R70 000.

SMU has 2 methods for applying:

- Apply manually – a hardcopy application. This means that you need to download the application form, complete it and then post it with the necessary documents.

Step 4: Apply for residence if you need student accommodation.
