Tuition Fees at MUT 2026

Application fees: R250 for SA citizens (before 31 Oct 2025), R470 after. International: R300 before 31 Oct, R580 after.

Undergraduate diplomas: R20,000-R35,000 per annum. Bachelor’s degrees: R25,000-R45,000 per annum. Engineering and science programmes are at the higher end. Postgraduate qualifications vary by level.

Additional costs include accommodation, textbooks, and practical kits. MUT offers payment plan options and NSFAS funding for eligible students.

Admission Requirements for MUT

Applicants require a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with minimum five subjects passed at Level 4 (50%). English Home Language or First Additional Language must achieve Level 4. Admission is based on an APS calculated from your best six subjects.

Different programmes have varying minimum APS requirements. Engineering requires Mathematics and Physical Science at Level 4. Mature applicants (over 23) without standard qualifications may be considered based on work experience. Verify specific requirements with the Admissions Office.

NSFAS Funding and Financial Aid at MUT

How to Apply to MUT
