UJ operates across four modern campuses in the Johannesburg metropolitan area.
- Auckland Park Kingsway Campus: Primary campus hosting Business and Economics, Education, Humanities. Corner Kingsway and University Road

- Doornfontein Campus: Hosts Engineering, Science, and Technology with advanced workshops and computing labs

Each campus features modern library services, student support centers, counseling facilities, and learning commons.
2026 tuition fees vary by program. Undergraduate degrees typically range from R40,000 to R70,000 per year. Postgraduate programs range from R35,000 to R80,000 per year. Application fee: R200 (non-refundable).

Multiple funding opportunities available including government grants, institutional bursaries, and corporate sponsorships.
UJ is fully approved by NSFAS. Eligible students receive comprehensive financial support.

- Household Income: Not exceeding R350,000 per annum
- Students with Disabilities: R600,000 threshold
- Coverage: Tuition fees, accommodation, transport (up to 40km), books, registration, living stipends
NSFAS does not fund short courses, part-time study, or most postgraduate programs. Apply through www.nsfas.org.za. Apply early – no late applications accepted.
Admission is based on the Admission Points Score (APS) system and subject-specific prerequisites.
- Minimum APS Score: 20-38 points depending on program
- Subject Prerequisites: Specific subjects required per program (e.g., Mathematics for Engineering)
- English Language Proficiency: International students may need TOEFL or IELTS
- School Leaving Certificate: NSC Grade 12 or equivalent
- Extended Program Option: Available for students below competitive thresholds
