Did someone say free education? It’s possible to become a game changer, get a free education and become a software engineer at the same time. Read how with We Think Code.
Innovation and education are on our doorstep. It’s picking up like a wildfire amongst the youth of today. Like never before, individuals are looking for ways to make a difference. To engage in problem solving and instantly be gratified is the trend. This may not be true for everyone but it’s definitely a thing and it’s infectious. Really infectious.
And let’s face it.
The world needs more problem solvers (whips out rubik’s cube).
Our every day lives are filled with problems that need solving. Fortunately for us, new technological developments are popping up left, right and centre. There’s no stopping the game changers of today, they’re on a roll. They are improving the well being of people like me and you as well as contributing to saving our planet. Yet, we need more of these like-minded individuals who are capable of jumping out of the box with innovative ideas and solutions to solve the more severe technological problems humanity faces.
The more problems we can confront and solve, the better we can provide for the world as well as for humanity. Not only that, but the careers of the future depend highly on technological skills — like programming and coding.
Become a Rockstar with We Think Code
Imagine being offered the opportunity to get a free education and a certified qualification in software engineering while you’re busy with the whole innovation game? Changing the world, one line of code at a time. I mean…hello. Who wouldn’t drop their laptop-free bags and run for the opportunity?
All you need to do is get in…
We Think Code, a tech institution in Johannesburg, offers aspiring software engineers (programmers) an opportunity to study for free. Yes, mahala. Instead of funding its operations through fees on the student, We Think Code finds corporate sponsors looking for future software geniuses.
The innovative tertiary model uses peer-to-peer learning, which means no teachers and no classes. It sounds crazy, but hundreds of students are being funded through this model each year and are graduating straight into jobs as world-class software engineers.
That’s mahala education with almost guaranteed employment. We don’t see many options better than that, chaps…
GET ON IT: Spaces are filling up quickly and it's on a first come first serve basis.
Applications close on the 5th of April in 2017.
How to Apply?
Perhaps you’re amused by the idea of a free education and software engineering is your forte.
Here’s how you can apply and start building the next big thing:
- Be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Fill out the application form
- Take the online aptitude test (make sure you do this when you have ample time, have rested eyes and are ready to flex your memory muscles!)
- Ace the test and you’ll be invited to join the intense 4-week bootcamp during which you’ll be challenged to solve programming problems
- If accepted, start the 2-year course to become a software engineer (whoop whoop)
There’s no better time to get an education than right now. Especially if it’s free…One thing is for certain: technological skills are in desperate need and will be for generations to come.
