Launched in January 2022, the school delivers 100% online learning for learners in Grades 8 through 12 (matric), making world-class education accessible across South Africa. Registered with SACAI, accredited by Umalusi Council.
Currently serving over 4,000 online learners, UCT Online High School provides an affordable, flexible, and high-quality learning ecosystem for learners from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Students complete their secondary education from home while maintaining academic rigor equivalent to traditional schools.

While January is the primary intake, UCT Online High School accepts applications year-round. Mid-year applicants may undertake placement assessments.

UCT Online High School operates entirely online with no physical campuses. All learning takes place on a secure, dedicated platform accessible 24/7.
Technology Requirements: Stable internet (minimum 5 Mbps), laptop or desktop computer (less than 5 years old), printer, headphones and microphone.

The application process is simple and online.
Most applications are processed within 5-7 working days. For January intake, submit by November 30 of the previous year.
CAPS Curriculum:
Cambridge Curriculum: Completion of Cambridge Secondary 1 or equivalent, demonstrated English and Maths proficiency.
Adult Matric: Must be aged 21+, basic literacy and numeracy skills, commitment to 18-month programme.
New learners may complete a placement assessment to ensure appropriate grade placement.
CAPS Curriculum (Grades 8-12): The South African NSC curriculum with weekly work plans, leading to the matric qualification. Includes mandatory Languages, Mathematics, and elective subjects.
Cambridge International Curriculum: Internationally recognized qualification. Currently available for Year 10 (Grade 10), with Years 11-13 coming soon. Registered as an official Cambridge International School.
Adult Matric Programme (ASC): For working adults aged 21+ who wish to obtain or complete their matric. Self-taught model over 18 months.
Key Features: Weekly structured work plans, subject-specific support, self-paced learning, real-time progress tracking, and support coaches available Monday-Friday 8:00-17:00 SAST.
