Free Study Resources

by admin

Preparing for exams and tests or simply keeping up to date and revising your work just became 10 times easier!

If you’re a ‘techie’ and get bored to death by the ink-filled pages of a textbook, we’ve got some epic online, offline AND free resources for you to capitalise on to ensure you’re fully prepared for your studies and enjoy them at the same time.

Why use Free Online Study Resources?

They’re free! Online study resources are great. You don’t have to pay a cent and can learn not only your current curriculum but also a wide range of things. Go on, get searching for your desired learning content right now, it’s literally waiting for you… online and for free (not sure if we mentioned that part)!

There’s a wide range of knowledge out there on the web – you can access it and make it work for YOU. Another huge positive of online resources is the varying places from which the content that you will learn comes from. Instead of only learning, for example, your Geography work from your prescribed textbook, you will interact with different methods of explanation and these may very well suit you much better!

Online study resources are also great for their quick revision tests. With the majority of the free resources that we’ll be getting into shortly, there are a ton of revision tests. After you read over a section and interact with the corresponding examples, you’ll be able to ‘test yourself’. This is a great way of making sure that you’re taking in AND understanding the content as you go along.

High School Study Resources

If you’re a high school student and you’re looking for free online study resources, you’ve come to the right place!

Be it Mathematics, Accounting, English, Geography or History – we’ll give you the resources to help you out.

Our personal favourite is Khan Academy. Khan used to only provide courses on Mathematics, but they’ve now expanded to Economics, History, the Sciences, English and even Entrepreneurship courses! Khan allows you to access courses developed by them, totally free. You can work your way through a number of different levels and test yourself along the way. There are also videos that explain most concepts in case you are struggling to understand them. Get on Khan and improve your marks right now.

Regarding Maths, specifically, there is a great website called The Integral Calculator. The Integral Calculator is a free website for calculus. It allows you to enter your graph formulae/problems and works out the solutions for you as well as gives you an in-depth explanation of how it came to those solutions. It’s a great tool to check your work and get a better understanding if you’re struggling with calculus.

There are many more free study resources for you to make the most of and you can find them in the summarised list at the end of this article!

Tertiary Study Resources

So you’re a uni student? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered too.

The first is via a website called PaperVideo. PaperVideo is full of study resources and for post-matriculants, it offers a course called UniMaths which is an introduction to University Mathematics. The ‘UniMaths’ course costs absolutely nothing! This study resource gives you access to 15 intro-to-University Maths lessons as well as past papers and explanatory videos! Be sure not to miss out on this one.

Next, we suggest E-Classroom. E-Classroom offers you a monstrous variety of courses. Unfortunately, these courses aren’t free. E-Classroom links you to a website called Udemy. Udemy is home to thousands of online resources and at the moment they have a special on all of the courses advertised on E-Classroom – R120/course! QUICK – don’t miss this opportunity!
