To qualify for an IU bursary, you must meet the following criteria:
Academic qualifications, basic requirements:
- Proof of English proficiency (Proof of having completed studies in English will suffice, you can use a value 5 or higher in your application)
- Bachelor programmes: National Senior Certificate
- Master programmes: Completed Undergraduate Degree
- MBA programmes: Completed Undergraduate Degree, One year of work experience
You will also need to meet any additional entry requirements of your chosen study programme.

Don’t have a high school diploma? Have one but your grade average doesn’t meet our admission requirements? We have a solution for you!
With the High School Diploma Study Pathway in collaboration with Cambridge Assessment International Education (equivalent to A-levels and the top university entrance qualification with NQF level 5), you can earn a high school diploma and start your online Bachelor’s degree at IU – at the same time.
Anyone aged 16 and up is eligible to enrol in IU’s High School Diploma Study Pathway. We also provide up to 75% scholarships from the start of your programme, making it one of the most affordable high school diploma pathways on the market.
