So, you are keen to study at the Central University of Technology (CUT)? One of the need-to-knows before sending off your application form to CUT is the APS calculation.
APS stands for Admission Point Score. In South Africa, universities use APS points as one of the tools to see if applicants qualify for their respective programmes. CUT has a unique APS calculation that applicants can use to work out their score.
CUT APS Calculation
Applicants will need to meet the minimum APS or fall within the testing band in order to be considered for a specific program. Generally, you get points for each matric subject you write an exam in.
To calculate your APS, add your matric subjects points according to CUT’s APS table.
Regardless of your achievement level in Life Orientation, this subject only scores 1 point in the CUT APS calculation. The points you get for each course will depend on the percentage you score in that particular subject. The APS score is the total points you receive from each course.
Please note: meeting the bare minimum requirement is not always enough to get you into your desired degree programme, so push hard to get the highest marks you possibly can.
