Tuition costs range from approximately R2,000 to R30,000 per year depending on programme level and specialization. NCV programmes fall in the lower to mid-range, while NATED N4-N6 courses may cost more due to specialization.
Important: Students will not be admitted unless fees are paid in full or arrangements made. However, both NCV and NATED programmes are fully funded by NSFAS for qualifying students, meaning eligible applicants pay zero personal fees.
NCV Programmes: Minimum Grade 9 completion with basic literacy and numeracy skills. The college assesses foundational competencies through placement tests.
NATED Programmes: Valid Grade 12 certificate required. Engineering Studies requires Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Grade 12 or NCV Level 4. Business Studies requires Grade 12 with Accounting/Business Studies or NCV Level 4.
All applicants complete a mandatory competency test assessing English proficiency, basic mathematics, and reasoning abilities, prescribed by the National Department of Education and Training.
Port Elizabeth TVET is fully accredited for NSFAS funding, providing government grants—not loans—to South African citizens from poor and working-class families. NSFAS covers all tuition costs plus living allowances for accommodation, meals, books, transport, and personal necessities.
