Undergraduate and Honours Unisa registration dates
If you are applying for:
- Undergraduate degree programs,
- Honours programs, or
- Postgraduate diplomas
This includes higher certificates, diplomas, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, B. Tech, and postgraduate certificate programs
Initial fee payment date for undergraduate Unisa programs
It is also important to note that the final date for your initial minimum payment is on the 7th of March 2022. This needs to be paid so that your registration can be finalised.
Unisa Master’s and Doctoral registration dates
If you have applied for a Masters or Doctoral program through Unisa, here are the registration dates to keep track of:
4 January – 30 April 2022 (exceptions do apply for some of these qualifications).
The initial fee payment date for postgraduate Unisa programs
When you are registering for a postgraduate program through Unisa, your registration will only be finalised once the university has received your payment. So, you need to pay before the registration closing date, i.e. 7 March 2022.
Does Unisa accept late registration?
In 2022, if you miss the registration deadline you will unfortunately not be able to study at the institution. The university has had to decrease the number of students that they admit this year, and as such have had to be strict about registration and application deadlines.
To avoid disappointment with your registration make sure that you register as soon as possible rather than waiting until the 7th of March. This will give you enough time to make sure that you get your registration done correctly, and if you have any issues there will be enough time to sort those out.
Online registration for Unisa in 2022
Registration in 2022 for all 1st semester and year modules for the academic year must be submitted online. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic Unisa is only allowing online registrations (with a few courses excepted).
The university has stated that all of their in-person self-help registration facilities across the country are unavailable during the current registration period.
Issues and errors with Unisa online registration
If you do have any problems registering online, Unisa have stated that there is probably an issue with the selection of modules. So, if you are struggling make sure to read the error message carefully and correct accordingly.

In-person registration for Unisa 2022
Only students with serious registration issues will be allowed to visit the Unisa office. There will be a limited number of students granted at the office according to Covid-19 regulations. To visit the offices you will need to book an appointment through the Unisa booking app. Every visitor will then be required to complete the full health check before entering the Unisa office.
